Purpose of Position

To take ownership specifically of servicing the finance requirements of the newly-formed law firm. As directed by the Finance Manager, take a key role in financial reporting, credit control, treasury/ cashflow management, payroll, and management accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the development and implementation of the finance and accounting function for the newly es-tablished law firm
• Design different kind of forms/ documentation and business/ accounting flow, help to implement good business practice
• Co-ordinate with the Technical Support and Client Development teams to carry out an efficient AR billing and col-lection process
• Ensure the month-end financial statements and accounting package are produced promptly and accurately
• Prepare different kinds of reports like monthly billing analysis report, WIP reports, AR aging reports
• Review Accounts payable claims, monitor the trust fund accounts
• Review the bank reconciliation and inter-company accounts
• Prepare/ review accounting vouchers, ensure transactions are properly encoded in the book/accounting system
• Assist in budgeting/ forecasting process
• Liaise with external parties such as auditors, banks and IRD as necessary
• Prepare tax computations
• Ad hoc assignments as required by the senior management

Experience/Knowledge Required

  • 3 – 5 years middle-size to Big 4 audit firm training/working experience
  • At least 4 years commercial experience on top of audit firm experience
  • Former accounting experience in law firm is highly preferred, exposure in serving management
  • High-level of integrity, roll-up the sleeves, eyes on detail, willing to grow with the company, go extra mile
  • Fluency in English (a must) and Chinese
  • Experience in NAV Dynamic 2016 accounting software is desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft application, in particular, Excel (Pivot table, formula)

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, finance, or business
  • Qualified accountant/member of any recognizable accountancy organizations such, HKICP, ACCA, AICPA preferred
