For the purposes of recruitment Crawford & Company (Australia) Pty Ltd ACN 008 392 452 (Crawford & Company (Australia) “Crawford”) will collect and process information about you in connection with potential employment with our company.
This notice explains our practices with regards to collecting and processing the personal information of job applicants.

What Information do we collect?
Crawford collects and uses personal information about you in relation to your application for employment for recruitment and employment purposes. We collect this information directly from you as part of the recruitment process and from third parties in relation to pre-employment screening checks.

In most circumstances personal information will be collected directly from you. For instance, you provide us with information when you complete employment forms and when you enter data directly into our online employee system. At the time information is being collected, you will be advised if there is a legal requirement for you to supply the information, for example if it is required by immigration or tax law.
Personal information collected and held by Crawford may include phone numbers, address (including email address) and other contact details, employment history and financial information.
How will this information be used?
Your Personal Information is used to assess your suitability for the job/s you apply for and is stored in electronic format. It may also be stored in hard copy to the extent require (for example, to conduct interviews). However, it may also be used to assess your suitability for other roles at Crawford and its related entities.
Crawford may additionally collect candidate feedback for business purposes such as to improve our processes.
Sharing your information with others
Crawford may share your information with Crawford & Company Group of companies worldwide to enable them to use your personal data for the purposes set out above, depending on which role you are seeking or the location where you are seeking a role.

Cross border disclosure of your information
When we release your information within Crawford & Company Group of companies and to service providers this may involve transferring information located overseas. In each case, Crawford adheres to our Global Information Security Management policies and the requirements of the Australian Privacy Act (1988) that apply to cross border disclosures of personal information, as well as with any legal requirements applicable in the relevant jurisdiction.
How we protect your information
Crawford has a series of Global policies and procedures that require information classified as confidential to be protected with physical, technical and organisational measures that are proportionate to the sensitivity of the personal information.
These safeguards are designed to protect your personal information from loss and unauthorised access, copying, use, modification or disclosure. Crawford also comply and are a certified against the global international standard for information security, ISO 27001.
Crawford requires our third party service providers who process your information on our behalf to safeguard to an equivalent or greater standard.
Access to your information
Under the Privacy Act you may have the right to access the information that Crawford holds about you (subject to certain legal limitations). To do this you should send a request in writing to your Crawford HR contact.
Except in the case of more complicated requests, we will endeavour to respond to access and correction requests within 30 business days.
If you believe that any of your information we hold on you is inaccurate or incomplete please let us know and we will correct it. You are encouraged to ensure that the information you have provided is kept up to date and to amend any information which is inaccurate or out of date.
